How long have you been doing this?

PET TAXIS is an extension of the interstate Pet Transport services we have been offering for over 16 years under the name of Dogmovers, which continues to operate as a well respected regional service, our professional staff have a combined 100 years in the pet transport industry. We travelled more than 1,000,000km a year to deliver over 10-15,000 pets throughout the country.

What are your hours of service?

A full breakdown of both our standard transport hours and our office hours are available here http://www.pettaxis.com.au/pricing/ on our pricing page along with details of any surcharges for out of hours work.

Do you have a local depot?

We are based at Logan Village near Brisbane, we can meet you here or at any other point in South East Queensland. Our interstate services usually use a local, easy to find meeting point in each town. The variation in cost related to the difference between Door to Door vs local meeting point deliveries will be discussed with you by our customer service consultants when you make your booking.

Do you move anything else besides dogs?

Locally we can move all types of pets and small domestic animals, we may need to discuss specific arrangements with you for some creatures but we are very flexible and will do everything we can to accommodate any special requirements.

Do you transport small livestock or wildlife?

Yes, locally we are able to transport a wide range of animals using our small animal transport floats. Small or young livestock that fit in the plastic travel crates will also be able to ride in the vehicles. However it is the senders responsibility to ensure that all permits and licences required are available prior to transport.

Are you able to organise flights as well?

We do not arrange flights or hire travel crates but we can deliver to, and work closely with the many professional Pet Travel agents throughout Australia.

Am I able to purchase a travel crate from you?

Yes, we do have available some of the smaller sizes of airline approved travel crates, usually suitable for dogs or other pets up to 15kg in weight. For larger animals crates are more frequently hired rather than bought for airline travel. Keep in mind also that you do not require your own crate for local transport with us.

Are you insured?

We have all of the standard available Public Liability and Business insurances. However in Australia companion animals travelling by road or air are not individually insured for illness or loss unless arranged by the owner under a personal Pet insurance policy. Several organisations, including the RSPCA offer such insurance.

How far do you travel?

Our local Pet Taxi service covers all of South East Queensland and the NSW Northern Rivers on a regular door to door basis, however combined with our regional and interstate services we cover from Adelaide all the way up to Cairns with meeting points in most towns just like a long distance bus service.

What are your payment methods?

We accept Cash, Bank Deposit, Visa, Mastercard and PayPal. Go direct to our payment otions page at http://www.pettaxis.com.au/payment-options/ for complete details for each payment type.

Can I travel with my Pet?

Locally we are able to accommodate you or your family members with your pet as a courtesy service at no extra charge. Our air conditioned SUV's and Vans allow us a range of flexible transport optons including yourself, your pets and luggage.

If I am moving two pets is the price the same as for one?

Our local pet taxi services are priced based on the time a job will take, usually it will make no difference whether you are sending one or two animals. We will factor in additional handling time if required for more than two animals. If you are sending your pets regionally with Dogmovers then each animal is priced separately but there are discounts for each subsequent pet.

If I am moving two pets can they go in the same cage?

We will usually allow separate cages for each animal but are happy to put compatible animals together if you, or they, prefer.

Is there anything I need to do before giving my dog to you?

This is quite a wide topic, please view our Travel Tips page for full details http://www.pettaxis.com.au/travel-tips/

Does my dog get walked?

This will depend on the length of the trip, for short urban trips generally the dog will be walked at the residence at each end of the transport, on longer trips we do stop to walk all dogs and puppies regularly during the trip. We don't exercise cats and other animals generally.

Do my pets need to be vaccinated?

We do not require evidence of vaccination prior to travel, however as at all times it is your responsibility to ensure your pets are appropriately protected. If we are delivering your pet to a boarding establishment they will require proof of vaccination and the airlines require declarations signed by the owner for most animals. It is important to always think about the documentation needs at the destination and ensure we are given any necessary paperwork.

How are the animals housed in your vehicles?

Our vehicles have built-in cages for larger dogs and Airline style travel crates are used for smaller animals. Generally we will use Foam mats or clean towels as bedding. On Interstate trips or if we have a larger number of animals we may use one of our small animal floats and in these we use fresh clean straw as bedding. All animals have a constant water supply and are fed on the longer trips.

Will my pets be travelling with other animals?

Our local pet taxi services are usually individual jobs done separately, so it is usually only one families animals on board at a time, however we will combine jobs for efficiency where we are able to do so to keep the prices reasonable for our clients. This is however only done after taking into account the type of animals and time frames involved with each job. On the regional and interstate services we do always transport a larger number of animals at a time, just like a bus service, however each animal is housed separately and receives individual attention throughout the trip.

Do you have age restrictions for the animals you transport?

Generally puppies and kittens are not transported under the age of 8 weeks, this is the minimum age that a registered breeder is allowed to release your pet. We do not have a restriction on animals below this age however we would generally only move animals younger than this where there is a specific, valid reason to do so that relates to the animals wellbeing.

Do we need to supply a cage?

We have cages built into our vehicles or will supply a travel crate for smaller animals travelling with us at no charge. However depending on where we are delivering your pet to you may need a carrier at that point. If your pet is going to the airport for a flight you will need to arrange a carrier ahead of time, for larger animals these can be hired from one of the many Pet travel agencies and for smaller animals can be purchased from the ourselves, the people you booked the flight with or the airlines freight department.

Will you have something for me to put my pet in when you deliver it to me?

No, not unless you have arranged that with us beforehand, travel crates are available for purchase for smaller animals only.
